Bridge Hotel

I absolutely love the Bridge Hotel. The rooms are lovely and actually offer a comfortable mattress and pillows. The bathroom was to a high standard also. The staff are polite and attentive and you genuinely feel like they care about giving you a fantastic stay. I ate twice in the bar during my stay and the food was lovely, as is the beer as well. It does get busy as the area is fabulous for walking, but as resident you're always accommodated well. They properly spoil your dog as well, they remember their names within a day and even given them breakfast.

Lovely old hotel which has been tastefully updated over the years. Ample parking, decent sized room with a great bathroom, comfy bed, nice balcony, friendly staff and a good bar. I stayed for 5 nights with Nancy the dog checking in on 23rd November. The place is very dog friendly, they even have canine meals on the menu! Please note there are ‘dog-free zones’ in the form of the residents lounge and breakfast room, which I think is a good compromise as I appreciate everyone is not a fan of canines. Yes I recommend this hotel and will soon be making another booking.

Lovely hotel set in the quiet village of Buttermere. If your aim is get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, reconnected with nature and enjoy the beautiful Lakes countryside then this is the perfect location. The hotel itself is well run, comfortable, serves a lovely breakfast and the bar at the back is a great place to hang out with a log fire roaring. We will definitely come back!

Myself and my partner stayed at The Bridge Hotel for 2 nights for my birthday. Can’t fault it it all, staff were friendly in both the bar and hotel. We arrived and went to our room, there was an issue with the room so I went down to reception. It was resolved straight away and we were upgraded. The room was amazing over looking the small river/beck flowing past. The noise of the water was so therapeutic. The food for breakfast, afternoon tea in the living room and evening meal in the bar were all amazing. Very high quality. We were given a code for parking as part of our booking which gives access to a private carpark for guests only. No issues with parking, plenty of space. Can’t wait for another visit.

A Hidden Gem My wife and I stayed in The Bridge Hotel in Buttermere for two nights. We booked based on the positive reviews we read and I’m pleased to say it did not disappoint. This hotel is a hidden gem in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK - just a short walk from Buttermere lake and some incredible scenery and hill walks… with a couple of beautiful cafes nearby to reward yourselves afterwards! The staff in the hotel are super friendly, especially Sammie - who is the beating heart of the service! The beers on tap are local and delicious, and the food is first class - both breakfast and dinner. My wife is gluten free and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful, offering a number of choices to accommodate her needs. After one visit, Buttermere has instantly entered my list of favourite places in the world, and this hotel will forever now be my base to it.

Friendly service and fantastic food, really good value and big portions. Seating outside on the terrace is perfect for a sunny day.

Lovely hotel in superb location. We had a beautiful room with a sumptuous, sparkling, bathroom. Attention to detail was extraordinary. A very different experience to staying in a room from a large hotel chain where everything is Ok. Here everything was special. Our room did not have a TV but TV reception and internet are not good in this valley, it's a feature of the location. The staff were brilliant.

Well appointed room. Easy check-in and out, welcome email beforehand with car parking details, much appreciated. Service throughout from staff was very good, as I’ve experience before and was a factor in booking the hotel, beyond the location.
